Associate Membership:

Open to women and men who:

  • Desire to share the mission of the community but do not feel called to the vowed life.
  • Desire to be part of a larger community whose life is rooted in community for the sake of the mission.
  • Want to become part of the Dominican charism of the Holy Preaching.

An Associate in the Tacoma Dominican Community feels the truth of the Community’s charism and mission deep within her or his being and tries to live out that truth daily. As an Associate for nearly 15 years, I have grown spiritually and broadened my world-view through the faith, love and joy that is so freely shared in this community and continually commit myself to carrying out our mission concentrating on the broad area of peace and justice.- Joyce Hopson, OPA

Being a Tacoma Dominican Associate means being part of an amazingly life-giving, creative, and courageous community of faith-filled women (and a few men), committed to ongoing prayer, study, and justice- making.
